Safety starts with parents

Kids make memories. Parents make the connections

We take safety seriously. That starts with a simple rule: kids cannot add connections. Only parents can. Just like arranging a playdate, the grown-ups decide who is in the circle.

Their circle starts with you

Parents invite other parents into their family circle and manage the children in it. Kids can chat with children in that circle, but cannot add someone new themselves. You make the introductions. They bring the fun.

  1. Parents invite parents
  2. Parents manage the kids in their circle
  3. Kids chat within that circle

When something deserves a check-in

If a child shares a concern such as bullying, Cubcall can send a parent a separate safety notice instead of waiting for a routine update. A calm heads-up, grounded in what the child said, so you can decide how to help.

Illustrative safety notice · Fictional example

Hi, Sam mentioned that a few kids at school have been calling them names and leaving them out at lunch. They said it has happened a few times and is making them not want to go to school. I wanted to flag this rather than wait for your next update.

You could start with: “How has lunchtime been lately?” and give Sam room to tell you more.

Protected conversations

Chat access is checked by the app, not just hidden behind a button. Kids can only open and send messages to children in their parent-managed circle. Parents approve a child’s access before chatting begins.

Playful pets, clear boundaries

Pets are instructed to keep conversations appropriate for children, never ask for private information, and never encourage secrets from trusted adults. They should be honest about being AI and encourage a child in danger or distress to seek help from a trusted adult.

A little more visibility for parents

The paid plan includes parent updates, chat summaries, and AI-powered safety alerts for potential concerns such as bullying, threats, or distress. Reviews consider conversational context, including pretend play. Alerts can miss things or get them wrong; they are not live human monitoring or an emergency service.

Sensitive records are encrypted

We use application-level encryption for sensitive database fields, including parent phone numbers, parent-message records, safety assessments, and AI processing records. This is not end-to-end encrypted chat: Cubcall and its service providers process the information needed to deliver messages, generate pet replies, and provide safety features.

Children’s information stays personal

We do not sell children’s personal information or use it for targeted advertising. Hosting, messaging, and AI providers receive information needed to operate the service. Parents can contact us to review or request deletion of their child’s information.
